Szelena wants to fix our broken campaign finance system and improve the way that political organizations work. She was the COO for MAYDAY.US, leading the organization through its $11 million crowdfunding campaign and into its 2014 electoral work, and the Director of Operations for Demand Progress, overseeing a period of expansion in response to massive public demand for Internet freedom and open government. She also helped develop two experimental, grassroots campaign finance reform initiatives, Rootstrikers and the New Hampshire Rebellion. In 2015, Szelena was the COO for Run For America, a startup that recruits and trains first-time candidates to run for Congress, and a senior advisor to Larry Lessig’s presidential campaign. Szelena is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School, and her work was profiled in the September 2015 issue of Vogue.
